Description
The covalent attachment of prenyl lipids, such as farnesyl or geranylgeranyl groups, by specific transferases is indispensable for the cellular sorting of many proteins. James et al. (1994) identified in hamster a farnesylated protein, called peroxisomal farnesylated protein or PXF, that localized to the outer surface of peroxisomes.
Formulation
10 mM Tris, pH 8.0, + 0.002% Sodium Azide + 3 mM NaCl + 2.5 mM. Precaution: Sodium azide is a poisonous and hazardous substance which should be handled by trained staff only.
Molecular Weight
34.4 kDa (Calculated)
Storage and Stability
Store at 80C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature. During shipment, small volumes of PXF recombinant protein will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial. For products with volumes of 200 ul or less, we recommend gently tapping the vial on a hard surface or briefly centrifuging the vial in a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container’s cap.
