Storage Conditions	This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-4C, but should be kept desiccated at -20C for long term storage. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-4C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Description	Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor (M-CSF), also known as CSF-1, is a four F helical bundle cytokine that is the primary regulator of macrophage survival, proliferation and differentiation. M-CSF is also essential for the survival and proliferation of osteoclast progenitors. M-CSF also primes and enhances macrophage killing of tumor cells and microorganisms, regulates the release of cytokines and other inflammatory modulators from macrophages, and stimulates pinocytosis
Formulation	Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution in 20 mM Tris + 500 mM NaCl, pH7.4.
Reconstitution	Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Add sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
Specificity	x 105 IU/mg
Biological Activity	Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 determined by a cell proliferation assay using mouse M-NFS-60 cells is less than 2 ng/ml.
Endotoxin Level	Less than 1EU/ug as determined by LAL method.
