Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50as determined by dose-dependent stimulation of TF-1 cells is <0.2ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 5 x 106 IU/mg. Eachlaboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particularapplication. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assaysshould not necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
Thelyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is beststored at –20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at2-8oC. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at –20°C. Avoidmultiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Full name
Interleukin 4
Product Overview
Recombinant Human Interleukin-4 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 130 amino acids and having amolecular weight of 15, 000 Da. The sequence of the first five N-terminalamino acids was determined to be Met-His-Lys-Cys-Asp. Contains less than 1%dimers and aggregates.

Antigen Description
Interleukin-4, abbreviated IL-4, is a cytokine that induces differentiation of naive helperT cells (Th0 cells) to Th2 cells. Upon activation by IL-4, Th2 cellssubsequently produce additional IL-4. The cell that initially produces IL-4, thus inducing Th0 differentiation, has not been identified, but recentstudies suggest that basophils may be the effector cell. It is closelyrelated and has functions similar to Interleukin 13.
