Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50as determined by the dose-dependent co-stimulation with mouse IL-4 of MC-9cells is <2ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1.5 x 107IU/mg. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use inits particular application. Other applications have not been tested but usein such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
Thelyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is beststored at -20°C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at2–8oC. Long term, add 0.1% HSA or BSA, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoidmultiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Antigen Description
Interleukin-10 (IL-10 or IL10), also known as humancytokine synthesis inhibitory factor (CSIF), is an anti-inflammatorycytokine. In humans IL-10 is encoded by the IL10 gene. This cytokine isproduced primarily by monocytes and to a lesser extent by lymphocytes. Thiscytokine has pleiotropic effects in immunoregulation and inflammation. Itdown-regulates the expression of Th1 cytokines, MHC class II antigens, and costimulatorymolecules on macrophages. It also enhances B cell survival, proliferation, and antibody production. This cytokine can block NF-kappaB activity, and isinvolved in the regulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Knockoutstudies in mice suggested the function of this cytokine as an essentialimmunoregulator in the intestinal tract.
