Manufacturer - Applications
The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulationof the proliferation of human TF-1 cells is <2ng/ml, correspondingto a specific activity of >5 x 105 units/mg. Eachlaboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in itsparticular application. Other applications have not been tested but use insuch assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Storage Conditions
The lyophilized product is stable for a few weeks at roomtemperature but is best stored at –20°C. After reconstitution, aliquot andstore at –20°C.

Antigen Description
OSM is apleiotropic cytokine that belongs to the interleukin 6 group of cytokines. Ofthese cytokines it most closely resembles leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) inboth structure and function. However, it is as yet poorly defined and isproving important in liver development, haematopoeisis, inflammation andpossibly CNS development. It is also associated with bone formation anddestruction
