Description of target	Binds to F-actin and exhibits pH-sensitive F-actin depolymerizing activity (PubMed:11809832). Regulates actin cytoskeleton dynamics. Important for normal progress through mitosis and normal cytokinesis. Plays a role in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization. Required for the up-regulation of atypical chemokine receptor ACKR2 from endosomal compartment to cell membrane, increasing its efficiency in chemokine uptake and degradation (By similarity). Required for neural tube morphogenesis and neural crest cell migration (PubMed:15649475).

Kit principle	The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Cofilin 1 (CFL1). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Cofilin 1 (CFL1). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Cofilin 1 (CFL1) level in the sample or standard.
Kit reproducibility	Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Cofilin 1 (CFL1) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Cofilin 1 (CFL1) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate.
