Description of target
Growth factor active in angiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration and also has effects on the permeability of blood vessels. May function in angiogenesis of the venous and lymphatic vascular systems during embryogenesis, and also in the maintenance of differentiated lymphatic endothelium in adults. Binds and activates KDR/VEGFR2 and FLT4/VEGFR3 receptors.

Kit principle
The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGFC). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGFC). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGFC) level in the sample or standard.
