Description
Highlights: Dynamic assay range 300pg/ml - 60ng/ml for human SNCB, Separate kits are available for human, mouse and rat beta-synuclein. Highly selective to beta-syncuclein (SNCB) with insignificant cross-reactivity to other synucleins. Sandwich ELISA format providing convenience and high sensitivity. Strip plate format allowing separate assay and storage of sections. Rapid protocol: Only one incubation with antibodies. Total protocol time approximately 1.5 hrs. Colormetric detection at 450nm using a standard absorbance plate reader.

Poisonous Material
Sodium Azide (0.1%)
Background
Beta-Synuclein, a member of the synucelin family of proteins, is highly homologous to alpha-synuclein. Beta-synuclein is highly expressed in the substantia nigra, a region of neuronal degeneration in patients with Parkinson's disease; however, no direct relationship to Parkinson's disease has been established. Beta-synuclein is predominantly expressed in the neocortex, hippocampus, striatum, thalamus, and cerebellum. Beta-synuclein may inhibit alpha-synuclein aggregation, which occurs in Parkinson's disease. Thus, beta-synuclein may provide protection from the toxicity associated with alpha-synuclein aggregation.
Highlights
Separate kits are available for human, mouse and rat beta-synuclein.
Sandwich ELISA format providing convenience and high sensitivity.
Strip plate format allowing separate use and storage of sections of the ELISA plate.
