Genway ID:
GWB-F7AAE4
Host Animal:
Rabbit
Immunogen:
Peptide corresponding to a. a. 79-90 of human resistin.
Specificity:
Resistin (a. a. 79-90)
Specificity:
Recognizes human resistin (14kDa). It has been suggested that the hormone resistin secreted by adipocytes links obesity to type 2 diabetes by modulating steps in the insulin-signaling pathway and inducing insulin resistance. Levels of circulating resistin decrease following treatment with the anti diabetic drug rosiglitazone and increase in diet-induced and genetic forms of obesity. In addition treatment of normal mice with recombinant resistin impairs glucose tolerance and insulin action. Insulin-stimulated glucost uptake by adipocytes is enhanced by neutralization of resistin and is reduced by resistin treatment.
Type of Product:
Polyclonal Antibodies to Cardiac Markers
Concentration:
1mg/ml (OD280)Preservatives: NaN3
Buffer:
PBSApplications Notes : Suitable for use in Immunoblotting (1:500 ? 1:1 100) and ELISA (1:1 000 ? 1:5 000). Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Warning:
This product contains sodium azide which has been classified as Xn (Harmful) in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0. 1â ??1. 0%. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains. Rabbit anti Human Resistin (a. a. 79-90). Rabbit Antibody to Human Resistin (amino acids 79-90)
Function:
Hormone that seems to suppress insulin ability to stimulate glucose uptake into adipose cells. Potentially links obesity to diabetes.
Subunit:
Homodimer; disulfide-linked (By similarity).
Subcellular Location:
Secreted.
Tissue Specificity:
Expressed only in fatty tissues.
Similarity:
Belongs to the resistin/FIZZ family.
