Application:
Anti-apoLipoprotein antibodies have been used for indirect trapping ELISA for quantitation of antigen in serum using a standard curve for immunoprecipitation and for western blotting for highly sensitive qualitative analysis.
Assay Dilutions:
All assays should be optimized by the user. Recommmended dilutions (if any) may be listed below.
ELISA: 1:5 000 - 1:10 000Western Blot: 1:500 - 1:5 000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 - 1:200IP: 1:100OTHER
Applications:
User Optimized
Immunogen:
Produced from apoLipoprotein Type C-III derived from human plasma. Physical State: Liquid (sterile filtered)Purity and
Specificity:
This product has been prepared by immunoaffinity chromatography using immobilized antigens followed by extensive cross-adsorption against other apoLipoproteins and human serum proteins to remove any unwanted specificities. Typically less than 1% cross reactivity against other types of apoLipoprotein was detected by ELISA against purified standards. This antibody reacts with human apoLipoprotein C-III and has negligible cross-reactivity with Type A-I A-II B C-I C-II E and J apoLipoproteins. Specific cross reaction of antiapoLipoprotein antibodies with antigens from other species has not been determined. Non-specific cross reaction of anti-apoLipoprotein antibodies with other human serum proteins is negligible. Antibody
Concentration:
Lot specific and is stated on the vial
Buffer:
0. 1M Sodium Borate 0. 075M Sodium Chloride 0. 005M EDTA; pH 8. 0
Stabilizer:
None
Ship Code:
WETICE
Preservative:
0. 01% (w/v) Sodium Azide
Function:
Inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase and decreases the uptake of lymph chylomicrons by hepatic cells. This suggests that it delays the catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles.
Subcellular Location:
Secreted.
Tissue Specificity:
Constitutes 50% of the protein fraction of VLDL and 2% of that of HDL. Synthesized predominantly in liver and to a lesser degree in intestine.
Ptm:
O-linked glycan consists of Gal-GalNAc disaccharide further modified with up to 3 sialic acid residues.
Disease:
Defects in APOC3 may be a cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia [MIM:143470]. Affected individuals show high levels of alpha-lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein/HDL).
Similarity:
Belongs to the apolipoprotein C3 family.
