PIB5PA (N-TERMINAL)
Isotype:
Polyclonal IgG

0. 09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)Approx. Protein Concentrations: IgG concentration 1. 0mg/ml
Immunogen:
Synthetic Peptide corresponding to the N-Terminal domain of Human PIPB5PA conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH).
Specificity:
Detects phosphatidylinositol (4 5) bisphosphate 5-phosphatase A (PIB5PA) also known as PIPP (proline-rich inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase) . PIB5PA functions as a negative regulator of PI3-kinase signalling events that promote neurite elongation and survival and is thought to regulate the level of inositol and phosphatidylinositol polyphosphates at membrane ruffles. PIB5PA is constitutively associated with the plasma membrane and is expressed in a number of tissues including the brain heart kidney stomach small intestine and lung. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: Sheep Anti Rabbit IgGGoat Anti Rabbit IgG (Fc)Goat Anti Rabbit IgG (H/L)
Function:
Inositol 5-phosphatase which converts inositol 1 4 5-trisphosphate to inositol 1 4-bisphosphate. Also converts phosphatidylinositol 4 5-bisphosphate to phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate and inositol 1 3 4 5-tetrakisphosphate to inositol 1 3 4-trisphosphate in vitro. May be involved in modulation of the function of inositol and phosphatidylinositol polyphosphate-binding proteins that are present at membranes ruffles By similarity. Catalytic activityD-myo-inositol 1 4 5-trisphosphate + H2O = myo-inositol 1 4-bisphosphate + phosphate. 1D-myo-inositol 1 3 4 5-tetrakisphosphate + H2O = 1D-myo-inositol 1 3 4-trisphosphate + phosphate. Subcellular locationCytoplasm By similarity.
Note:
Predominantly localized to membrane ruffles By similarity.
Domain:
The 5 Arg-Ser-Xaa-Ser-Xaa-Xaa (RSXSXX) motifs may constitute binding sites for the 14-3-3 protein. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the inositol-1 4 5-trisphosphate 5-phosphatase type II family. Sequence cautionThe sequence AAD15618. 1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction. 1. Favaloro E. J. et al.
