Immunogen:
Synthetic phospho-Tyr641 peptide corresponding to residues around Tyr641 of human Stat6 conjugated to KLH.
Antigen Species:
Human
Specificity:
This product detects Stat6 only when phosphorylated at phosphotyrosine 641.
Positive Control:
Interleukin-4-treated Daudi cells
Target:
STAT6
Localization:
Nuclear; translocated into the nucleus in response to phosphorylation.
Purification Note:
This antibody is affinity-purified using the protein A and peptide affinity chromatography. Storage
Preservative:
NoneConstituents: 50% Glycerol 100µ g/ml BSA 150mM Sodium Chloride 10mM HEPES. pH 7. 5
Application Note:
WB: Use at a dilution of 1/1000 this is recommended using an extract from interleukin-4-treated Daudi cells. Predicted
Molecular Weight:
100 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. Cellular
Localization:
Nuclear; translocated into the nucleus in response to phosphorylation. Stat 6 protein is a transcription factor activated by cytokines particularly interleukin 4 and IL 13. (Stat6-/-) were found to be deficient in IL 4 mediated functions including Th2 helper T cell differentiation expression of cell surface markers T cell proliferation immunoglobulin class switching to IgE and partial loss of IL 4 mediated proliferation. Stat 6 mRNA has been detected in peripheral bloodlymphocytes colon intestine ovary prostate thymus spleen kidney liver lung and placenta. Stat 6 is critically involved in Th2 immune response.
Function:
Carries out a dual
Function:
signal transduction and activation of transcription. Involved in interleukin-4 signalling.
Subunit:
Forms a homodimer or a heterodimer with a related family member (By similarity). Interacts with NCOA1 via its C-terminal LXXLL motif.
Subcellular Location:
Cytoplasm. Nucleus. Note=Translocated into the nucleus in response to phosphorylation.
Ptm:
Tyrosine phosphorylated following stimulation by IL-4 and IL-3 (By similarity).
Similarity:
Belongs to the transcription factor STAT family.
Similarity:
Contains 1 SH2 domain.
