Specificity Note:
This product is specific for Angiotensin II and shows the following cross-reactivities with other forms of Angiotensin:Angiotensin III 75%Angiotensin I 20% Angiotensin II is formed by cleavage of the terminal two amino acid residues of Angiotensin I by ACE (Angiotensin-converting enzyme). It is mainly found in lung capillaries where it increases blood pressure before being degraded to Angiotensin III by cleavage of the N-terminal aspartic acid residue.

0. 09% Sodium Azide (NaN3) 1% Bovine Serum Albumin Summary: The protein encoded by this gene pre-angiotensinogen or angiotensinogen precursor is expressed in the liver and is cleaved by the enzyme renin in response to lowered blood pressure. The resulting product angiotensin I is then cleaved by angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) to generate the physiologically active enzyme angiotensin II. The protein is involved in maintaining blood pressure and in the pathogenesis of essential hypertension and preeclampsia.
