Normal Kidney or Renal Cell Carcinoma
Target:
Gp200

Cell Membrane Cytoplasmic
Concentration:
0. 2 mg/ml Storage
Buffer:
200ug/ml of antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein G chromatography. Prepared in 10mM PBS pH 7. 4 with 0. 2% BSA and 0. 09% sodium azide.
Application Note:
Western Blotting (1)(Reduced & non-reduced). Cellular
Localization:
Cell Membrane Cytoplasmic In normal kidney gp200 is localized along the brush border of the pars convoluta and pars recta segments of the proximal tubule as well as focally along the luminal surface of Bowman\' s capsule adjoining the outgoing proximal tubule. Of other normal tissues examined the gp200 is also localized along the luminal surfaces of breast lobules and ducts the luminal surface of the epididymal tubular epithelium within the cytoplasm of parathyroid parenchymal cells and focally within the colloid of thyroid follicles. Thirty-one other normal tissues do not express similar or cross-reacting antigens. Reportedly gp200 is expressed by 93% of primary and 84% of metastatic renal cell carcinomas.
Function:
Acts as an endocytic receptor to direct captured antigens from the extracellular space to a specialized antigen-processing compartment (By similarity). Causes reduced proliferation of B-lymphocytes.
Subcellular Location:
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein (By similarity).
Tissue Specificity:
Expressed in spleen thymus colon and peripheral blood lymphocytes. Detected in myeloid and B lymphoid cell lines. Isoform 2 and isoform 3 are expressed in malignant Hodgkin\' s lymphoma cells called Hodgkin\' s and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells.
Ptm:
N-glycosylated.
Miscellaneous:
Isoform 2 and isoform 3 are produced in HRS cells by a transcriptional control mechanism which cotranscribe an mRNA containing LY75 and CD302 prior to generating the intergenically spliced mRNA to produce LY75/CD302 fusion proteins.
Similarity:
Contains 10 C-type lectin domains.
Similarity:
Contains 1 fibronectin type-II domain.
Similarity:
Contains 1 ricin B-type lectin domain.
