TRIS buffered saline pH8. 0

Immunogen:
Recombinant mouse SSRP1 (amino acid residues 150-413)(1).
Specificity:
Specifically recognises clathrin heavy chain (CHC) a ubiquitously expressed protein and major component of clathrin-coated vesicles and pits which combines with clathrin light chains (CLC) to form clathrin triskelions (3CHC and 3CLC) which then self-assemble into a polyhedral coat. Clathrin-coated vesicles and pits are involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis and secretory vesicle formation and are linked with the plasma membrane or trans-Golgi network by adaptor proteins. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: Goat Anti Mouse IgMGoat Anti Mouse IgG IgA IgMHuCAL Anti Mouse IgM
Function:
Clathrin is the major protein of the polyhedral coat of coated pits and vesicles. Two different adapter protein complexes link the clathrin lattice either to the plasma membrane or to the trans-Golgi network By similarity. Subunit structureClathrin triskelions composed of 3 heavy chains and 3 light chains are the basic subunits of the clathrin coat. In the presence of light chains hub assembly is influenced by both the pH and the concentration of calcium. Interacts with HIP1 By similarity. Subcellular locationCytoplasmic vesicle membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side By similarity. Membrane & rsaquo; coated pit; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side By similarity. Melanosome By similarity.
Note:
Cytoplasmic face of coated pits and vesicles By similarity. Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the clathrin heavy chain family. 1. Grisar J. et al. (2001) Phenotypic characteristics of human monocytes undergoing transendothelial migration. Arthritis. Res. 3: 127 - 132.
