Atorvastatin hemicalcium salt is a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor with an IC₅₀ value of 8 nM. IC50 & Target: IC50: 8 nM (HMG-CoA) In Vitro: Atorvastatin (0.03 to 1 uM) inhibits FCS-induced SV-SMC proliferation and invasion^[2]. Atorvastatin promotes the expansion of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in vitro. Atorvastatin-derived MDSCs suppressed T cell responses by NO production^[3]. In Vivo: Atorvastatin (1-90 mg/kg, p.o.) reduces the mechanical inflammatory hypernociception induced by LPS in a dose-dependent manner. Atorvastatin (30 mg/kg, p.o.) shows Antinociceptive effect of atorvastatin is mediated by inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase^[1]. Atorvastatin promotes MDSCs accumulation in C57BL/6 mice^[3].
