Description	Preptin is a 34-amino acid peptide hormone, which is co-secreted with insulin from the pancreatic beta-cells in response to glucose stimulation. It is osteogenic in vitro and in vivo and may act in concert with the other beta-cell hormones insulin and amylin to stimulate bone formation in hyperinsulinemic states such as obesity.
