Background
The concentration of the conjugated bile acid, cholylglycine, in serum is a sensitive and specific indicator of hepatic function.serum cg is one of important factors to evaluate the fetal condition in uterus with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy.this finding has a reference value for early rehabilitation and intervention after the fetal was born that can be tested quantitatively. Hepatic dysfunction occurs commonly in children with sickle cell disease (SCD). Serum cholylglycine (CG) has been found to be a very sensitive indicator of cholestasis. serum cholylglycine concentrations are usually abnormal in most hepatobiliary diseases, such as viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis, and pediatric liver diseases. The higher level of cholyglycine in ICP pregnant women would affect the synthesis of erythropoietin in newborn fetus, and the lower level of erythropoietin may be a factor of fetal hypoxia.
