Supplied as a liquid in 20mM Tris-HCl buffer, pH 8.0, 0.15M NaCl, 10% glycerol, 1mM DTT.

Short chain dehydrogenase/reductase family 16C, member5, also known as SDR16C5, is active in both the oxidative and reductive directions. This protein oxidizes all-trans-retinol in all-trans-retinaldehyde. No activity was detected with 11-cis-retinol or 11-cis-retinaldehyde as substrates with either NAD+/NADH or NADP+/NADPH.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
