TFB1M belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily. TFB1M is a dimethyltransferase that methylates mitochondrial 12S rRNA at the conserved stem loop. This protein also is part of the basal mitochondrial transcription complex and is necessary for mitochondrial gene expression. TFB1M stimulates transcription independently of the methyltransferase activity.

Recombinant protein corresponding to aa28-346 from human TFB1M, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.

Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
