Description
RANKR, a member of the TNFR superfamily, is a type I transmembrane protein. RANK and RANKL have shown to be important regulators of the interactions between T-cells and dendritic cells. RANK is essential for RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis. In the presence of M-CSF in bone marrow cultures, RANKL stimulates osteoclastogensis and activation of mature osteoclasts to resorb bone by binding to RANKR.

Recombinant protein corresponding to human RANK, containing 175 amino acid residues, comprising of the full-length of the TNF receptor-like extracellular domain of RANK Receptor, expressed in E. coli.

Biological Activity:
Determined by its ability to inhibit sRANKL induced NF-kB in RAW264.7 cells in the absence of any cross-linking. The expected ED50 for this effect in the presence of 15ng/ml of recombinant sRANKL, is 30-50ng/ml.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
