Description
Dysbindin is a ubiquitously expressed protein that binds to alpha- and beta-dystrobrevins, components of the dystrophin-associated protein complex (DPC) in both muscle and nonmuscle cells. Dysbindin has been strongly implicated in schizophrenia (SZ) susceptibility by a series of independent genetic association and gene expression studies. Among its known functions, dysbindin is part of a protein complex, termed the biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex 1 (BLOC-1), the molecular components of which might be involved in the regulation of vesicular trafficking and dendrite branching. Dysbindin effects for brain volume and cortical thickness appear driven by different neurobiological processes. Recombinant human Dysbindin protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.
Form
In 20 mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0) containing 100mM NaCl, 0.5mM DTT, 20% glycerol
