Description
NQO2 is a member of the NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (quinone) . The enzyme apparently serves as a quinone reductase in connection with conjugation reactions of hydroquinones involved in detoxification pathways as well as in biosynthetic processes such as the vitamin K-dependent gamma-carboxylation of glutamate residues in prothrombin synthesis. It is flavoproteins that catalyze the metabolic detoxification of quinones and their derivatives to hydroquinones. This detoxification process protects cells against quinone-induced oxidative stress, cytotoxicity and mutagenicity. Recombinant human NQO2 protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Form
Liquid. In 20mM Tris-HCl buffer(pH 8.0) containing 10% glycerol, 1mM DTT.
Storage
Can be stored at +4C short term (1-2 weeks). For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C or -70C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
