Storage Conditions	This lyophilized protein is stable for six to twelve months when stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C. After aseptic reconstitution, this protein may be stored at 2°C to 8°C for one month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. Product Description	Persephin (PSP) is a secreted protein belonging to the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family of the TGF-b superfamily. Just like factor GDNF and neurturin (NTN), PSP promotes the survival of ventral midbrain dopaminergic neurons and prevents their degeneration. Persephin also supports the survival of motor neurons.1 Persephin is expressed at very low levels in most tissues. It is synthesized throughout the nervous system and has both astroglial and neuronal origin.2
