Storage Conditions
The lyophilized TL-1A recombinant protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20˚ C. Reconstituted TL-1A is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20˚ C. As with any protein, exposing TL-1A recombinant protein to repeated freeze / thaw cycles is not recommended. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature.
Biological Activity
Biological activity was determined by its ability to stimulate IFN - gamma production by human PBMC using a concentration range of 10.0 - 100.0 ng/mL. Note: Results may vary with PBMC donors.
Background
TL-1A belongs to the TNF superfamily of ligands. It is expressed predominantly in endothelial cells, and to a lesser extent in placenta, lung, kidney, skeletal muscle, pancreas, small intestine and colon. TL-1A inhibits endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis, and has been shown to induce NFkB activation, caspase activity, and apoptosis in responding cell lines. TL-1A interacts with TNFRSF25/DR3 receptor, but can also bind to a decoy receptor TNFRSF21/DR6. Recombinant human TL-1A is a 22.0 kDa polypeptide of 194 amino acid residues.
