Description	Proguanil (Chloroguanide) is a prophylactic antimalarial drug that acts primarily through its active metabolite, Cycloguanil, which inhibits the dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) enzyme of Plasmodium falciparum, preventing the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines and inhibiting the growth and reproduction of the parasite.
