Information	β -Hydroxylsovalerylshikonin is a natural product isolated from < i> Lithospermium radix< /i> , acts as a potent inhibitor of < b> protein tyrosine kinases (PTK) < /b> , with IC< sup> 50< /sup> s of 0.7μ M and 1μ M for EGFR and v-Src receptor, respectively. Beta-hydroxyisovalerylshikonin is effective against a wide variety of tumor cell lines, and most efficiently induces cell-death in NCI-H522 and DMS114 cells.
