Description	Murine IL-6 is a 212 amino acid polypeptide with a molecular weight of 19-27 kD. Human and murine IL-6 share only 41% homology at the amino acid level. IL-6 displays a wide variety of effects such as supporting the induction of cytotoxic T cells, B cell differentiation and Ig production, enhancing T cell function, and inducing the production of acute phase proteins from liver.
