Specificity:
CD62L
Clone:
FMC46
Immunogen:
PHA stimulated lymphoblasts.
Fusion Partner:
Spleen cells from immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse NS1 myeloma cell line. Histology: Human Tonsil
Preparation:
Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant.
Buffer Solution:
Phosphate buffered saline pH7. 4
Preservative Stabilisers:
0. 09%Sodium AzideSuggested
Flow Cytometry:
Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Suggested
Dilution:
Flow Cytometry - 1/50 - 1/100
Function:
Cell surface adhesion protein. Mediates the adherence of lymphocytes to endothelial cells of high endothelial venules in peripheral lymph nodes. Promotes initial tethering and rolling of leukocytes in endothelia.
Subunit:
Interaction with PSGL1/SELPLG is required for promoting recruitment and rolling of leukocytes. This interaction is dependent on the sialyl Lewis X glycan and tyrosine sulfation modifications of PSGL1. Sulfation on Y-51 of PSGL1 is important for L-selectin binding.
Subcellular Location:
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity:
Expressed in B cell lines and T lymphocytes.
Similarity:
Belongs to the selectin/LECAM family.
Similarity:
Contains 1 C-type lectin domain.
Similarity:
Contains 1 EGF-like domain.
Similarity:
Contains 2 Sushi (CCP/SCR) domains. 1. Pilarski. L. M. et al. (1991) FMC46. a cell protrusion-associated leucocyte adhesion molecule-1 epitope on human lymphocytes and thymocytes. 2. Zola. H. et al.
