Protocol Outline	Prepare all reagents, samples and standards as instructed. Add 100 µl detection antibody to each well. Incubate 1.5 h at RT or O/N at 4°C. Add 100 µl standard or sample to each well. Incubate 2.5 h at RT. Add 100 µl prepared streptavidin solution. Incubate 45 min at RT. Add 100 µl TMB One-Step Substrate Reagent to each well. Incubate 30 min at RT. Add 50 µl Stop Solution to each well. Read plate at 450 nm immediately.

Introduction	Neurotensin is a 13 amino acid neuropeptide that is widely distributed throughoutthe nervous system, and may function as a neurotransmitter or a neuromodulator. Itacts on three subtypes of neurotensin receptors which have many central andperipheral actions.Neurotensin induces a variety of effects, including: analgesia, hypothermia andincreased locomotor activity. It may be involved in dopamine-associatedpathophysiological events.In the periphery, Neurotensin is found in enteroendocrine cells of the smallintestine. It may be involved in the maintenance of gut structure and function, and inthe regulation of fat metabolism. It is a potent mitogen for colorectal cancer.Neurotensin also exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi.
